Drunk on Men: Volume 1

I don’t usually judge a book by its cover or title, but this time—I’m ashamed to admit—I did. I hated the title of this book and didn’t like the cover much better. Since this was an author whose writing I haven’t read before, if I hadn’t read this book for my reading group, I would have missed out on a great read because of it.

In Volume 1 of Drunk On Men, you meet three 1920’s women from completely different backgrounds: Belle—an older kept woman ready for a new lover, Edie—a rich debutant who doesn’t want to marry the man chosen for her, and Hanna—a poor country mouse in the big city for the first time to find a husband. When the three women meet, they hit it off and their lives change instantly with good ol’ 1920’s girl power. I enjoyed watching the relationship between these women grow and look forward to seeing what they will get into next.
