Greetings Earthlings! I thought I would take a moment and share a stream of consciousness with you fine folks. After writing novels for over a decade, and now transitioning into writing screenplays, my prospective on movies has changed drastically. Now, after learning the ingredients that go into film making, TV shows, etc, I now find myself more of a student of the film rather than getting lost in the film itself. The escapism I sought in my movie watching has taken a bit of a hit. But on the other hand, when I do find myself immersed in a movie or TV show, I give much credit to the writers. My goal now is to draw the analytical viewers, like myself, into the feature. The challenge to do so ignites my imagination, which carries over into my novel writing as well. All in all, it just goes to show that the benefits of continued learning are vast. Keep learnin’!
